I stumbled upon this amazing article a while ago and faced the choosing issue.
How to choose a photo which could recommend you to follow the link if it's in the zone of your interest?

So I've decided not to choose any. They are too diverse (as people of the Russian empire always were) and you can look by yourself.
I'll just leave the thought here.
The country never stays the same. It changes, survives, freshens, moves, breathes. As a person.
But many people I know would like to live then. In Russia before revolution. Just to cherish many things that've been demolished and harmfully united into a communist state.
But life knows no other, so we live only now.
Happily, some people make photos so we can at least stare at the faces of people who saw different Russia.
