East or West?

Here in Russia we say "West" for USA and most Europe. We say "East" about countries where a man can have more than one wife at a time and women have to wear appropriate clothes. We say "Asia" about India, China, Thailand and Japan.

There's a designer girl named Yang Liu who grew up in Germany but was born in China. Her west is Germany and east, China. And when I see this series of her pictures, I think Russia will be on the China's side. Culturally. Maybe thanks to our communist past.
