This is how bank cards looked like back in USSR (and this thing still works).
This light blue "savings book" was the main thing you would carry with you in a case of fire. It holds account details and all the transactions: every time you come to "SavingsBank" (ex-main state bank), you bring it with you and they print a line with today's date and transaction info in a book with a special machine.
